DAY 11 - HILLSBORO: SAT. FARMERS' MARKET
DAY 11 OF 365 ...
HILLSBORO SATURDAY FARMERS' MARKET
I love taking my daughters to the Hillsboro Farmers' Market! Spend a whole morning and part of the afternoon shopping local and having bruch/lunch. We love the food (Hum Boa) and shopping for fresh berries, vegies, honey and flowers and catching performances by local musicians and entertainers.
A tradition in Hillsboro for more than 28 years, the Hillsboro Saturday Farmers’ Market is a seasonal open-air market featuring fresh local agricultural food and garden products, arts and crafts, live music and educational information.
The Hillsboro Saturday Farmers’ Market was established in 1981 and has become a traditional community gathering place as well as a favorite venue for obtaining fresh, local products. An estimated 5 to 7 thousand shoppers come weekly to the markets to purchase vendor-grown/produced agricultural products and arts and crafts, as well as to meet with friends.
LOCATION: Main St & 2nd Ave, one block northwest of the Third Avenue MAX station

TIME: Every Saturday 8:00am-1:30pm, 5/1-October 30, 2010

Farmers bring seasonal fresh locally-grown produce and flowers, including berries, fruits, vegetables, herbs and more. All produce is 100% grown by the farm vendor. Local nurseries bring a wonderful selection of flowers and plants to the market, all of which are 100% grown by the vendor.
One can find a variety of intriguing and quality arts and crafts designed and produced by regional artisans. In addition to all the fresh produce, a selection of foods, desserts and drinks are also available. Local groups share information on their organizations and programs.
Quality Northwest regional and local musicians perform jazz, blues and other musical genres on the lawn of the Washington County Courthouse in the center of the market. This adds a wonderful ambiance and enjoyment to the market experience.

DAY 9 FOREST GROVE - PRIME TIME SPORTS BAR & RESTAURANT
Day 9 of 365 ...
Prime Time Sports Bar & Restaurant
Prime Time Sports Bar & Restaurant is a casual dining sports bar with a lively atmosphere. The menu offers a wide variety of items; so many it's hard to make a choice. The restaurant offers a banquet facility for up to 40 people suitable for meetings or events such as baby showers.
Yesterday as I was playing tour guide to one of my clients who was not very familiar with Banks and Forest Grove, I suggested that we pop into the Prime Time Sports Bar & Restaurant for a "snack" aka early dinner. None of us had eaten lunch and we were ravenous. The food was great as always and I got to thinking that I don't think I've ever been disappointed with the food at Prime Time.
Our table of four shared the loaded potato skins with cheese, bacon, green onions and sour cream. I had a Philly Cheese Steak which is always delicious; I recommend also asking for a side of au jus! And my friend (and client) DeLori tried the tuna melt and was very happy with her choice.
Prime Time is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a full bar selection. The biscuits and gravy breakfast selection is yummy! Lots of sports viewing options and Oregon Lottery scratch-its, keno, and video poker. There is also one pool table near the lottery machines and a game arcade for the kids. Their restrooms have recently been tastefully updated and have a baby changing station.
