Day 3 of 365 ...
I was turned on to the Beaverton Jin Wah Restaurant by my good friend and neighbor Liz and have subsequently taken my daughters and friends. It is our favorite restaurant in Washington County for Hong Kong style dim sum. It is a Vietnamese and Chinese seafood restaurant located at 4021 SW 117th Ave #E in Beaverton. In the shopping strip mall behind Red Robin off of Tualatin-Valley Highway.
My 11-year old daughter loves picking her own selections from the push carts. Among her favorites are Hai Gow (shrimp in soft ?rice noodle); crispy shrimp balls, shrimp and snow pea in rice ?noodle, and Cha Siu Bo - steamed buns w/bbq pork. When I asked my daughter to tell me again what her favs are, she said "thanks a lot; now I want to go; right now"; that's how much she loves this place. It has been rumored that Jin Wah is only serving dim sum on the weekends now but their web site says that they serve dim sum 7 days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.
The atmosphere at Jin Wah is casual and it is family friendly which is really important to me. Nothing like going to lunch and having it ruined by people staring at you and your kids. The prices are very reasonable and the menu has tons of selections. Jin Wah does feature a full bar.
